As we continue to grow our project portfolio, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team, based in our Magherafelt office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator to join a growing business and play a key role in the successful development and delivery of major electrical projects.

The Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders for a range of electrical projects.

Working closely with the management, commercial, engineering and project teams, you will contribute to the full tender process from initial review through to submission and project handover.

The role will provide exposure to a variety of large-scale electrical, data centre, industrial and commercial projects, offering an opportunity to develop your technical and commercial expertise within a growing international business.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings and project requirements.

• Complete detailed electrical quantity take-offs and prepare accurate estimates.

• Prepare competitive and commercially viable tenders for electrical projects.

• Obtain, review and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Ensure subcontractor and supplier quotations comply with project specifications and tender requirements.

• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, consultants and internal teams throughout the tender process.

• Identify potential risks, exclusions, clarifications and commercial opportunities within tender documentation.

• Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation.

• Attend pre-tender, post-tender and clarification meetings where required.

• Work closely with the Commercial and Project teams to ensure a smooth transition from tender to project delivery.

• Keep management informed of tender opportunities, bid prospects and potential commercial risks.

• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

• Ensure estimates are completed within agreed deadlines and to a high standard of accuracy.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of DECO's estimating processes and procedures.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience in electrical estimating, preferably on medium to large-scale projects.

• Strong understanding of electrical installations, systems and associated costs.

• Experience preparing tenders for high-value electrical projects.

• Strong experience completing electrical quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.

• Experience reviewing technical specifications and tender documentation.

• Experience obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations.

• Previous experience working on data centre, industrial or commercial projects would be highly advantageous.

• An electrical trade background and/or relevant engineering qualification would be advantageous.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

• A commercial mindset with the ability to identify risks, opportunities and cost-saving solutions.

• A proactive approach and willingness to continuously develop technical and commercial knowledge.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in an Electrical Estimator role.

• Strong knowledge of electrical construction and installation.

• Experience with electrical take-offs, tendering and cost estimation.

• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

• Experience with estimating software such as Trimble or similar.

• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines.

Location
This is a full-time, office-based position located in DECO's Magherafelt office, with occasional travel to project sites, client meetings and tender meetings as required.
